This is a very debatable topic over the internet. Freelancing v/s typical 9-5 jobs, both have few pros and cons but i will discuss freelancing in this post.
Pros:
- Freelancing gives you the freedom to do any work anytime you want, you can work late nights and get up late in the morning.
- You are not answerable to anyone and you are your own boss
- You choose to work on projects of your choice and which you think you can complete them.
- There is no fixed pay as you are paid for the projects you work on and you define your own budgets by bidding for the projects.
- You have all the time for your family, you dont need to wait for the holidays to enjoy your time
Cons:
- As a freelancer if you get into any sort of a problem or you need support/help there is no one to help you and on the other hand in a work place environment there are people who can really help you solve your problems.
- You spend most of your time alone infront of your computer, hence there is no social life.
- You dont learn a lot of things working as a freelancer whereas in a proper work place there are a lot of learning opportunities.
- In a typical 9-5 job, you have to follow certain rules and regulations, time etc which makes life disciplined whereas in freelancing there is no discipline.

This is really a nice post about Pros and Cons of working as a freelancer. Freelancing is still a new concept for lot of people and they don’t know much about it. I would like to add something to your post which i think should have been mentioned in the Cons section:-
If you decide to work as a freelancer, there are some days/months when their is plenty of work and projects and there are some instances when you have no work/project to do. Freelancing is all about patience/activeness.
