Reasons why Yahoo Publisher is not getting out of beta!
Yahoo Publisher Network or YPN is a contextual publicizing method. It offers admen the opportunity to receive inexpensive dealing and publisher the chance to make wealth by displaying on-site advertisements made by the advertisers.
It has been quite ages since Yahoo Publisher has been launched against its much hyped rival Google Ad sense. But still Yahoo Publisher is bound to its Beta version. The main reason that Yahoo reveled about still sticking to the Beta version is that it says it need still some time to get the versions tested successfully then only they will hit the market. Yahoo Beta is like an egg suppose to … but never get to hatch. Instead of expanding YPN is shrinking as per the fact that on January 14th 2009 Yahoo shut down Europe programming and sticking back to US only.
The main question/issue behind all this scene which actually is the eyebrow raiser for the people is that why would a product need years to build up and trialing that too for the no One company on the web? Various hearsays arise out such as – Did yahoo lost the tracks? Why Yahoo still runs its business with the strategies that it followed in 1990′s? Why YPN is not gearing up anymore and are winding down?
One of the major problem which is restricting Yahoo Publisher Ads to step out of beta is that the fancy promises it made to its customers and talking so greatly about its products that raised the expectation of people to a very high level and now struggling in living upon their standards. When someone knocks the doors of Yahoo Publisher admin about the launch the official reply is “we have just changed a new home page to link up your publisher, there is lot to offer you there, so we hope you will take advantage of all of them – admin, Yahoo Publisher”
Yahoo made a partnership with Google to start using their ad serving technology within their search results. Based on this agreement, one can only assume that Yahoo has no short-term intention of completing the product since Yahoo feel it is not working as per the expectations.
Yahoo Publisher is just limited to US citizens till now I.e. it offers are limited. Geographical expansion is needed in terms to take upon rivals, when a rival is as strong as Google. YPN should allow publishers worldwide such as Canada, Great Britain, Australia, and India are some to mention. The worst of all is the criteria for using Yahoo Publisher. An individual or business must have a US address, plus a US Social Security number or a US IRS tax ID number to sign up an account with Yahoo Publishers. The Big question here is how this will be resolved when Yahoo is offered in countries other than US where no SSN culture is in such as India and many Asian countries. Also, it is an invitation-only service. Another point of concern is how Yahoo Publisher will work in countries like Pakistan where the PayPal is not operating and Yahoo Publisher is going in-hand with PayPal. Quality wise they are searching for some features which Google Ad sense won’t have, though they succeeded in incorporating some such as timestamp of the stats data and the ability to move YPN earnings to your yahoo Search Marketing account so you can spend it on ads but again the cost of such an act is directly related to the time it takes for the actual launch.
Yahoo Publisher does not go hand in hand with many existing blog sites which is emerging as a major hurdle in the widespread use of Yahoo Publisher. The small and medium sized businesses cannot make it appear on their sites and blogs. This is the issues that really needs lot of attention.
The major hurdle which is restricting Yahoo Publisher to step out of beta and expand itself worldwide is the little or one can say no support to the language translation facility till now. Language translation is a must when it comes to countries like Germany, Denmark, Vietnam and so. Ads which are meant for local business must have to be published in the local language and Yahoo Publisher is lacking this support.
Marketing and publicity team is lagging in terms of popularizing the Yahoo Publisher. Users of Beta version are complaining that their ads are not at all being targeted and results after using Yahoo Publisher for months have been lousy.
Lets hope that Yahoo Publisher is not out of Beta for all the good, for God sake and for the sake of all those who are going to use it to make good revenue .

Yahoo made a deal with google to run their ad network?????? I didnt know this info before. I think YPN is going to shut down very soon as you’ve mentioned above that it’s shrinked so much that only US citizens are eligible to use this ad network. nice post dude, keep it up.
